What would make the best urban camouflage?
Something that could be used almost anywhere in an urban environment: The project had begun by looking at patterns, taking images of crowds, cutting them up and printing them on fabric.
While this worked to a certain extent on busy streets, it was far from perfect. I began looking at animals that mimic as a form of camouflage, and tried to implement this into an urban situation.
The one thing that seems to dominate the streets of London, are black bin bags, they are so abundant that they have become invisible… the perfect camouflage. When the wearer crouches down, the dress can be lifted over their head, revealing the bin liners. Simple as that.
