Digital Drawing

By Matt  Bucknall

Drawings recording the physical distance travelled by – and movements made by a computer mouse, whilst carrying out various digital activities.

Part of an on going investigation into making physical visual records of daily actions. We forget that our everyday actions and things we encounter as we go about our daily lives play a vital role in placing ourselves within the physical realm. It is also important to remember that we have the opportunity to have dominance over these spaces, interacting with them in our own way.

These drawings have been especially made for the KithKin digital download shop. They are a record and response to some of the most common digital activities that people engage in today. The physical drawings – made by simply attaching a pen to a mouse, have themselves become a digital object, a representation of something which physically existed and a record of an action that once took place. The drawings can become physical and tangible again by simply printing them out.
