KithKin Presents - London 2007

Well this is where our foray into curation began. Ian and Joss were frustrated and annoyed by the endless exhibitions of chairs, and other straight, standard design. They felt the work that had got them excited and inspired was getting missed.
After seeing Icon magazine's disappointing student round up issue they decided to do something about this poor state of affairs.
KithKin Presents was born, an exhibition of inspiring design and ideas, collected together to show people conceptual design at its most fun, dangerous and at times even impractical. We found space from Designers Block, for their London show, and set about contacting the designers, and friends, who had produced work which really deserved to be seen.
We met with designers block, selected our wall in a large disused warehouse and set about designing the space. We worked within the context, and played with the visual language of shop displays.
We democratised the exhibition process by splitting the cost down between the exhibitors depending on how much space they used. The result was a wide selection of design and ideas from some of 2007's most exciting young designers.
